DEAR WOMEN
HAPPY NEW
YEAR.

I am introducing to you one of
the powerful Organization which is the symbol of women’s strength.
Business skills get enhanced with networking.' Networking is an
essential part of building wealth”
‘These wealth-building opportunities are available for
everyone. They do not require specialized skill. They just require
entrepreneurial resolve and willingness to network. Once you achieve
that, you will be on your way to the life you've always wanted.' These
are the words of Armstrong Williams, a TV and Radio host, columnist
and media pundit.
Women benefit from networking with other women
not only to get business and career related information and support
but gain confidence and help in solving problems that are unique to
women.
Confederation of
Women Entrepreneurs (COWE) is an
organization that we are featuring this time on our iwoman.in website.
COWE has grown tremendously in the past 3 years with a
membership of 400 enterprising women. You could become a COWE
member to regularly interact with the other women .learn from their
experience, seek guidance in areas that you require help, get access
to trade and financial linkages. Alternatively, if you have the
expertise and knowledge, you could share it with many others who do
need valuable information. a note about what COWE is , and its
role on the development of women, is given here.
COWE
(CONFEDERATION OF WOMEN ENTERORENUERS )
Confederation
of women entrepreneurs is a non-profit business Organization promoted
to bring about social and economic upliftment of women force through
entrepreneurship. It strives to provide food, shelter and security to
all women irrespective of their age, caste, creed, economic status or
profession by making them confident and self reliant. It reaches out
to the urban and rural under privileged women and calls upon the
privileged to support the cause, thus creating a common platform to
accomplish greater heights and reach out to wider markets.. It follows
the democratic philosophy ‘BY WOMEN, OF WOMEN, and FOR WOMEN’
COWE’s
vision is to build a women force that is economically
empowered, valued citizens of the nation. By pooling the dormant
talent, skills, practical knowledge and resources of a woman and
combining it with her intrinsic quality of dedication and commitment,
we will achieve this.
COWE’s
mission is to enhance women’s opportunities in
achieving the vision by creating a resource base of technical know
how, management, marketing skills, finance, infrastructure and
equipment to promote entrepreneurship.
COWE’s
study tours COWE recently sent a delegation to
Australia during March-April 2007 to Germany during the second week of

2007 and to Egypt from 24th to 28th of November
2007, with the support of ZDK/SEQUA, an Indo German partnership
program. The purpose of sending these delegations is to explore new
business opportunities in these countries and to network with
organizations sharing similar interests. All the four trips have been
successful in terms of the good contacts. That were developed and by
gaining a wealth of needed knowledge. MOUs inked during these visits
emphasize on exchange of database as well as mutual support for
enhancing bi-lateral/global trade.
MOU between the four
ZDH women association partners was signed at Bangalore, the other
member partners being GCCI, awake, FKCCI besides COWE after the
Australia tour. COWE has inked MOUs with two Srilankan

international and domestic companies and users, both companies and
individuals. Govt. of Andhra Pradesh has given this opportunity to
conduct these seminars with COWE did amidst other organizations
like CII, NASSCOM and the like.
Celebrated International
Women’s Day by felicitating mothers, talks by eminent persons on
topics like “Unleashing Women Power”, “Budget 2007” etc.
A Corporate ramp show was
held during Jan’ 2007 showcasing business and working women attire.
The mega event held this
year was a 3days COWE trade carnival at Necklace Road,
Hyderabad which had participation by over 180 members who sat up there
merchandised for sale. It was a marketing support by giving stalls at
subsidized rates to women entrepreneurs. Exposure to big markets,
visibility, publicity and new trade linkages are a few things that
this Trade Carnival provided for COWE’s members. Cultural
